He was a fan of legendary WABC-AM personalities Harry Harrison and Ron Lundy while growing up. Steve attended Seton Hall University where he hosted the WSOU "Bacon and Eggs Show" morning show, featuring Top 40 music. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hall in 1983 with double majors in economics and communication, earning summa cum laude honors. After graduation, Steve joined WSUS as the overnight personality and quickly moved up to afternoon drive. Steve returned to WSUS in 1986 as the midday host and production director and took over the morning drive slot in 1991. In addition to waking up Sussex County on WSUS, Steve has hosted the oldies shows Doo Wop Diner and Hall of Fame on Fox 96.7 and Oldies 1360 (also run by Clear Channel at the time).
