The holiday season will officially get underway in tonight as the world-famous Christmas tree is lit at Rockefeller Center, accompanied by the musical sounds of Rod Stewart, Cee Lo Green and Tony Bennett.
NBC's annual special Christmas in Rockefeller Center, which starts at 8 p.m. ET nationwide and 7 p.m. ET in the New York area will feature those three performers, as well as Mariah Carey, Il Volo, American Idol champ Scotty McCreery, American Idol season eight alum Brooke White, The Voice season two finalist Chris Mann, country star Trace Adkins and others.
It's likely that Mariah Carey will perform her new single "Christmas Time Is in the Air Again," which she's just released to iTunes. It originally appeared on her 2010 holiday album Merry Christmas II You.
