End of the month, end of another summer...sad to see it go. Mother Nature doesn't seem to think so as we're in for some beautiful warm weather for the next few days, so I hope you enjoy it.
The Labor Day weekend is here and throughout the last couple of days, I might have "flubbed" on the radio by mistakenly mentioning "Memorial Day". Ha ha! My subconscious probably doesn't want it to be over and wishes that summer continue year round. Of course, I can accomplish that by moving to the tropics, but then I'd pretty much be away from friends and civilization.
Anyway, as I was driving through towns like Sparta, Andover, Franklin, Hardyston and the rest of Sussex County, I see nothing but yard sales and barbecues all fired up where you can actually smell some of that terrific home cooked grilling! Unfortunately, my home doesn't allow for open fires, so I have to settle for the next best thing...marinated steaks and chicken cooked on a George Foreman Grill! Say what you want, but those things are the best appliances to come out in the last 15 years.
Speaking of grilling, make sure you get in on the 6th Annual Champion of the Grill event going on at Sussex County Fairgrounds on September 21st. More details can be found on www.wsus1023.com. I know there are a lot of great cooks out there, but haven't really shown off their skills...here's your chance!
