Yep, it's that time of the year again!  This is one of my highlights of the summer...the New Jersey State Fair going on this week at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ.  Whatever your pleasure, they've got it for you, your friends and family...the many food vendors, the fun rides, different farm animals or maybe even a live concert, the fair is THE place to be this season.  And for those of you with young babies 6 to 12 months old, make sure you have the little one entered into the annual WSUS Franklin Sussex Auto Mall Diaper Derby by registering online at www.wsus1023.com.  The derby takes place this Wednesday August 6th and midday personality Maria Lake will be out there broadcasting her show live for all the fun and frivolity as the toddlers try to reach the finish line.
Congratulations to Carl Edwards on his NASCAR win at yesterday's Pennsylvania 500 from Pocono Raceway.  I was rooting for #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr., especially since he's now competing with Hendrick Motorsports and doing much better this season.  I'm tellin' ya...this is a big week for events going on in the tri-states area!
Please don't throw tomatoes at me, but I know I'm in the Mets and Yankees backyard when I root for my 1st place Philadelphia Phillies.  I've gotten used to the heckles from my friends and colleagues, but let's face it...the Phillies this year are playing their best game and I think they have a shot at going to the World Series, especially with their big comeback win against the St. Louis Cardinals last night.  Go Phillies!
