My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Bonus Pet Of The Week Edition!

Update: next weekend I'll hopefully be in Boston visiting my family. Weekend In Pictures you can see in real time on my Instagram Story @SteveAllanRadio and then I'll hopefully be able to post everything by Tuesday night.

This was a very fun, and special weekend. Friday night was a quiet, chill night in at Jasen & Brendan's. Just what the doctor ordered after a crazy week. I knew Saturday was going to be action packed, so I tried taking it easy whenever possible. A few weeks ago, my friends at Father John's Animal House asked if I could do a special Pet Of The Week on location at Father John's Animal House. They have several pets right now who are great pets, just too shy for coming to our radio station. I came up with the idea to tie them into my Epic Weekend In Pictures. The beauty of how we handled Saturday was that timing could help us. We could give animals more time to warm up to me, without having the pressure of getting everything done to be on the radio by Thursday 3:45pm like we do every week. I ended up spending probably 2 hours at the shelter Saturday with my bonus Pet Of The Week edition.

The first pup I met is named Valkyrie. She's gorgeous with pretty eyes, but it shy with men at first. After playing around with her, we were able to get Valkyrie to warm up a bit to me. I think she'll make a family very happy. We then showcased Minnie and Daisy, both terrific puppies. They're all shy with men at first, but these sweethearts all warmed up to me after they were able to play around in the yard with us. I was then able to showcase cats Louise and Bessie. These cats were both shy at first, but were able to smile for my pictures just long enough.

I really hope my bonus Pet Of The Week edition helped some of them find their new Furever Families.

Saturday night we went to Newton Theatre to enjoy the Led Zeppelin tribute band "Kashmir." They were tremendous. I'm normally not personally into seeing tribute bands, but in this case it's not like I'll ever get to experience a live Led Zeppelin concert in person anyway. My friends Paul, Paula, Artie, Margie and Maria were all wonderful company. Paul came up with this idea last year, but we weren't able to get tickets together. This time around we were earlier and more proactive, successfully getting tickets together. It was just like enjoying a 2 and a half hour long Zeppelin concert. They played many hits sounding fantastic.

That was a late night! I got home just after midnight, and was definitely tired Sunday. Fortunately Sunday was a chill low key day. I had so much fun watching The Masters with my golf loving friends at The Irish Cottage Inn. It is so much more fun watching golf when you're with friends who are into it, know the game, and can answer your questions.

I ended up relaxing on my deck enjoying a minor sunset. Overall success. Time to start planning next weekend, where I'll be hopefully visiting my family up in Boston!
