My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Some Unexpected Adventure Fun

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend! Easter weekend I enjoy getting to be a free agent more or less. My first year here in New Jersey, I made the trek back up to see my family in Boston. It was then I learned what a major travelling holiday Easter Sunday is. So many folks go out to family gatherings and brunches, resulting in traffic all over the place. It took me 7 hours instead of 4 to get back here in Jersey on Easter Sunday years ago. I enjoy being a free agent and sometimes will treat myself to a steak lunch. My weekend basically started with me celebrity emceeing the annual SCARC Honors Dinner at Perona Farms. I was very happy that our event went so well, raising over $133K! We beat last year's totals. It's a great honor being able to stand, and speak for those who can't themselves.

Saturday I had plans to go out with my bestie Jennifer. I don't know what made me think of it, but Kane Brown was playing at The Prudential Center in Newark Saturday night. Jennifer and I were eyeing this show for several months. Last time I checked out ticket prices they were more expensive than I wanted to pay. All of the decent seats were $250 each. We were definitely intrigued with the show, featuring Parmalee, Tyler Hubbard and Kane Brown. While we were out to lunch at Yesterday's in Warwick, I just randomly threw the idea out there and offered to get our tickets if Jennifer agreed to drive. Surely enough we started playing on my phone with The Ticketmaster App. We figured Easter Eve is kind of an odd night to have a concert. We then opened up StubHub on my phone. We suddenly started to see some decent, last minute deals. Boom. Impromptu decision made, bestie Jennifer and I were now going to a fun Saturday night concert!

We got lucky and scored on a great deal. I was able to get our tickets for $90, right beside the stage, and we ended up in row 1 of a Suite! It was like having a private concert show for us. We were psyched with the terrific seats we ended up getting last minute. Parmalee, Tyler Hubbard and Kane Brown were all absolutely fantastic. At one point Jennifer wondered aloud if Kane Brown's wife would be at the show. I told Jennifer this was probably unlikely, as she is pregnant. (I think my words were "extremely pregnant.") Not even 5 minutes later, out comes Kane Brown's very pregnant wife! They were all sounding great. Jennifer and I had a wonderful time at the concert.

Sunday was a pretty low key day for me after the late night Saturday night. All good, well worth it! I got a text from bestie Carrie asking if I wanted to swing by her Mom Deb's place for Easter Sunday dinner. Their timing was perfect. I was able to go over and just hang out with everyone. I'm so beyond blessed that they're always willing to take me in on holidays. I would've been totally fine going to a steakhouse like normal, but it was a nice break to not go to one. We had so much fun just hanging out together watching college basketball March Madness. They went all out with both ham and prime rib. Even I ate some brussel sprouts. Everyone was cracking up knowing what a picky eater I am, yet still enjoyed some brussel sprouts.

Overall I had a fun, memorable weekend. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend! Home & Garden Show at The Fairgrounds this Saturday, one of our annual rites of spring traditions!
