All 120 seats in New Jersey’s state assembly and senate are on the line in Tuesday’s election. Currently, Democrats hold sway in both chambers, but the landscape could change with new contenders entering the fray.

A wave of change is imminent, with 29 incumbent lawmakers either retiring or seeking different positions. This election will also determine the leadership at the local level, with voters choosing mayors, council members, and school board positions across the Garden State.

Education is a key issue in this election, with numerous school ballot questions up for consideration. Some of these questions ask voters to decide on increasing funding for school security, a topic that has gained prominence recently.

Early voting concluded on Sunday, marking the end of the first phase of the electoral process. For those who opted for mail-in voting, the status of their ballot can be tracked on the Division of Elections website.

On Election Day, in-person voting locations will be open from 6am to 8pm in most counties. These locations can be found on the state’s official polling place search website. For additional information about polling places, voters can call 1-877-NJ-VOTER or contact their county Board of Elections.
