My Epic Weekend In Pictures: A Couple Of Fails But Still Had Fun

Talk about an epic northwest New Jersey weekend! Friday night I went to Bethel Woods to see Dierks Bentley along with Jordan Davis. WOW! Our seats were beyond fantastic, 20 rows from the stage. Of course with my irish luck the girl sitting in front of us was probably over 6 feet tall, god bless her. We were able to see as long as we looked to either the left or right of her. IT WAS HOT! At one point two horses with officers marched by us. One of them went #2. I can't tell you how gross it smelled in that heat! It was in the low 90s when I met up with besties Margie, Artie and Kyle. It was intense. You always remember those hot events, right? I was bummed being unable to see Kelsey Grammer at Black Bear Golf Club for their Bourbon & BBQ event. Hopefully I can meet up with him again next time he's back in town visiting us.

Margie and Artie are used to doing lawn seats at Bethel Woods. I got us seats because we've had so many thunderstorms lately. It was a pleasant surprise that we landed these awesome seats 20 rows from the stage. Margie, Artie and Kyle weren't in too much of a hurry to get to our seats. I'm OCD about this stuff and always like to know where exactly I'll be as early as possible for planning purposes. They could tell I was getting antsy. It was a wonderful feeling seeing all of their faces light up when they realized how terrific our seats were.

Ready to hear my epic fail? At some point during the fantastic concert I was just taking it all in, enjoying the beautiful moon just to the right of Bethel Woods. I admire the moon, then look back at the stage and see Dierks Bentley getting up. He was laughing saying his foot forgot to go along for the ride with him. Fortunately Dierks didn't get hurt when he tripped and fell. Thank goodness he didn't get hurt. That being said, if he did, this would have been a nationally covered story. AND I MISSED IT BECAUSE I WAS LOOKING AT THE MOON! Unbelievable. So typical me. LOL.

I highly recommend seeing both Jordan Davis and Dierks Bentley live in concert. They were both fantastic. Between us, I'm hoping someday that "Next Thing You Know," by Jordan Davis hits closer to home for me. You can see the song by clicking here.

The concert was great even if it had me out way past my preferred bedtime. We got home just before 3, so that basically crushed me the whole rest of the weekend. A late night out just hurts me, I'm not good at bouncing back from them. Fortunately the show was Friday night thank goodness.

Saturday afternoon I went to Jimmy Geez for a good, ice cold New England IPA. My bartender bestie Sam always knows exactly what I'll like over there. I'm always in great hands with her. While enjoying the beer, I got a text from my friend Cassie. She was having car issues and had to get to work hoping to get a ride from me. I was happy that I was local and able to help her get to work.

Saturday night I was happy to have a quiet night in and rest up for some Sunday adventures.

I went to Lake Hopatcong for my first time in a few months. I wanted to see my besties Sam and Kimberly at Alice's, but there was no parking. I ended up at The Windlass getting the last possible parking space there. I was definitely mumbling to and cursing myself for going to the water on the nicest Sunday we've had in months. WHOOPS. Lake Hopatcong was beyond PACKED! I kept yelling at myself "Steve, really? How do you not know better?" I still had a great time at The Windlass at Lake Hopatcong.

It was then a quiet Sunday afternoon on my deck where I'm trying to dodge raccoons. I really hope they go away soon. After over a year, I'm honestly exhausted by this whole thing. I just want to enjoy my deck in peace like I used to before my neighbors were feeding raccoons.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend, as we know The New Jersey State Fair Sussex County Farm & Horse Show returns!
