My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Some Old And New Adventures!

This was an action packed fun weekend for sure! A concert, fun with friends, and a new watch battery all in one weekend? I'll take those wins for sure.

Friday night I went to see 90s band Third Eye Blind at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair. My buddy Jennifer and I were talking a couple of months ago and stumbled upon this tour date. Jennifer texted me saying "we should go to this." I then texted back "as long as you're driving, I'm in!" While I've seen Third Eye Blind several times throughout their career, this was my first time seeing them since October 2009! Third Eye Blind back then were playing a Halloween costume party for my Mix station in Boston. They sound just as terrific today as they did back then. Their first ever hit Semi-Charmed Life is always a guaranteed crowd pleaser. You can see the video for this from 1997 by clicking here. It was so fun reliving many fun 90s songs. No matter how many times you've heard some songs on the radio, or I've played them on the radio, or even seen live several times, there is just so much excitement when you're experiencing the songs live in person. We had a great time at the show for sure.

I got home Friday night by 12:30, which might not sound like a late night to many, but to me it sure is. I felt like garbage for a good chunk of Saturday just from the late night. I'm an early bird, not a night owl, that's for sure. I think it's the years of working on morning shows in Boston that did me in lol. The media nerd in me noticed a couple of HD cameras recording the concert. Third Eye Blind's singer Stephen Jenkins admitted to us that PBS was recording their concert to use in a future special. They were excited to be on PBS, Jenkins exclaimed "dude a ton of my relatives watch PBS, I can't wait to be on this!" The first couple of songs the band had challenges with their audio mix. During one of their early hits "Graduate," you could barely hear Stephen Jenkins over the guitars drowning him out. By mid show they figured out the acoustics better and the show got better as it went on. As I'm writing this, not only am I having fun reliving the fun moments from that show...now I can't get Third Eye Blind out of my head!!!!!!!! LOL. So well worth it.

It was my first time ever at The Wellmont Theater, and second time ever in Montclair. I know what you're thinking, I definitely need to keep expanding my horizons and travels. At one point after "Jumper, from Third Eye Blind's Stephen Jenkins looked stunned at the crowd of us and said "I know it's only 2500 people in here but that was loud as bleep!" (Well, he didn't say bleep of course.) After all of that, maybe I'll end up being on PBS after they did several crowd shots. Great entertainment.

Saturday I was able to drop off my dry cleaning, wash and fold plus other fun Saturday errands. Fun fun. Then late Saturday afternoon it was time to go to my work bestie Shawn's place. She was having a get together with some of our friends who also happen to be clients. I had a blast with Liz and Nancy from Visions Federal Credit Union, Michelle from Crystal Springs, plus Stacy, Jim, and Shawn. We were only together for a couple of hours but somehow got so many laughs in along the way. We were having fun discussing the online dating jungle, and how it was important to keep all of us up. We were complimenting each others profiles and all that fun stuff.

I was happy to have an early Saturday night in on my couch watching The Final Four March Madness Tournament. I hadn't watched a game yet all this postseason, so it was definitely time for me to start catching up. I don't fill out brackets for the college basketball games. I love not having a vested interest and being able to cheer on and root for fun stories. With other sports I almost always have a vested interest, often multiple ones. It's nice to take a break and just be a fan of the game.

Sunday morning I ventured out to Rockaway Mall. My main mission was to get a new watch battery and then do lunch somewhere in that area. Upon arriving at Rockaway Mall I learned that on Sundays the stores don't open until Noon. Apparently every time I've been to Rockaway Mall it's been either on Saturdays or Sundays after 12pm? I was there at 11 ugh. Being bored walking around a mall felt like being a teenager all over again lol. At least I did get several thousand steps in though.

I was able to successfully get my watch battery changed. When I got back to the store, they laughed and said "you feel like you've been naked the last 15 minutes, right?" I said to them they already knew me far too well. Love my watches.

I then went to Miller's Ale House for lunch. I did a beer and hot wings, success! They were great, between the zingers in hot, and a Flying Monkey Juicy @$$ IPA, which I highly recommend. It's a good balance. Not too strong nor sweet.

I then ended up at The Cottage running into several friends including Artie, Margie and their friend Meg. Success. We had many laughs in such a short time. I then wrapped up my Sunday by watching Happy Gilmore because they had a pause to the Bar Rescue marathon.

What a weekend! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
