The Many Saints of Newark opens in theaters today

I often tell people anyone who grew up in North Jersey probably knew someone who reminded them of at least one character in the Sopranos. I knew several. The star of the original T.V. show James Gandolfini grew up in North Jersey. Now his 22 year old son Michael plays a young version of his dad in The Many Saints of Newark. What's different about "Many Saints" is Tony Soprano is not the focus this time. Instead, Tony's mobster Uncle Dickie Moltisanti is the star. Fans of The Sopranos remember Dickie's son Christopher was someone Tony had plenty of faith in. Until he had to whack him in the final season. Critics seem to like the movie. But say it falls short of the original T.V. show. The Sopranos was one of my all time favorite T.V. shows. Partly because I knew where so many places in the series were. So I'll get around to watching The Many Saints of Newark one of these days. To be honest I was hoping it would be like The Godfather II. Which was another prequel. Many people thought Godfather II was actually better than the first one. I guess this time that's not the case.
