Chatterbox demolition has started

I think it's safe to say we will all miss the Chatterbox. I'm glad it was there for all the years it was. My family loved going there. Especially during the New Jersey State Fair and to celebrate birthdays. For two years the empty restaurant sat as the state department of transportation looked over plans for access lanes for a new WaWa store coming to the site. The sale of the property was finalized in December. Now that the weather is getting warmer the full demolition of the iconic building has begun. As demolition crews and equipment brought down the building. Some of the hundreds of old 45's that were once the wall of the huge open dining area were scattered on the ground. WaWa has not said when construction on a new store will begin at the site. The company has not said when it plans to have te new store open and ready for business. Don Hall the former owner of the Chatterbox told NJ.COM: "I've got no regrets on anything. It was time to move on. WaWa is good people and they'll be good to the community."
