Lord and Taylor is closing all stores

You've got to wonder what shopping malls will look like 5 years from now. Will they just be big empty spaces? Can new stores or smaller stores replace the brick and mortar stores that are closing or filing for bankruptcy? Lord and Taylor was founded back in 1826. Soon all of their 38 stores will be gone. Last year Lord and Taylor closed their flagship store on 5th Avenue in New York City. The company was hoping to survive with about a dozen stores. Yesterday those hopes fell through. Lord and Taylor stores in Rockaway, Wayne and Livingston were already going to close. The remaining 6 Lord and Taylor stores in New Jersey will now close as well. That includes both stores in Paramus. Liquidation sales have already started.
