Distracted Driving Crackdown In New Jersey

They're once again calling it "U Drive. U Text. U Pay." New Jersey is one of four states who are receiving grant money for this campaign. Our friends at The New Jersey Herald are reporting that in Sussex County, both Sparta and Hamburg have received grants for this year's distracted driving crackdown. Distracted driving is one of the most dangerous circumstances that we face every single day. This crackdown takes place from April 1st to April 21st. The National Safety Council has declared April to be Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Texting while driving or talking on a handheld cell phone is what police will be targeting. Did you know that Distracted Driving can include more than just texting while driving? I've always said this for year's, technically drivers can be "impeded," or distracted from talking to a passenger, or even simply changing your radio station. It's settled, all you have to do is just keep our radio station on 24/7 and we're good! LOL. You can see other ways that can be counted as Distracted Driving from NorthJersey.com here.
